Staff Bios

Senior Pastor – John W. Uhl

John has been married to Lydia for the better part of two decades and have five children together ranging from teens to toddlers. After this South Carolina boy and Louisiana girl met in Santa Cruz, California and wed in Alexandria, Louisiana, they enjoyed an incredible adventure together living and ministering in Gainesville (Fl), Columbia (SC), Memphis, and Opelousas (La). Coming to New Orleans was a long-time desire for the Uhls, so now that they are here, they fully embrace and celebrate life in this great city. John was educated at Clemson University, Columbia International University, and Reformed Theological Seminary. Besides enjoying the gym, great films and football, John is a regular homebody preferring to spend time with his family.

 Director of Music Ministries – Bryan Bourgeois

A Louisiana native, Bryan Bourgeois joined Woodland Presbyterian Church in February of 2006. He holds bachelor and masters degree in piano and organ performance. After being at Woodland for over a year as organist/accompanist, Bryan joined the Woodland team as Director of Music Ministries in March 2007. Bryan is married to Tina and has three children: Lily, Clara, and Chaz. Bryan also serves on the board of New Orleans Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and Woodland’s school-Early Learning Center. In his spare time, Bryan loves to bike, play racquetball, and partake of the many New Orleans music festivals.
